This Solemn Mass Set with folded chasubles and broad stole is made in the French style in Winchester Damask fabric with machine and hand embroideries.
The Basic Solemn Set includes a priest chasuble, two folded chasubles and one broad stole along with all the required pieces (one priest stole, one deacon stole, three maniples, chalice veil and burse).
The priest chasuble is decorated with elaborate hand and machine embroideries, while the folded chasubles are decorated more simply with an IHS embroidery on the back. The folded chasubles are made to the full length, which is then folded in front and secured by ribbon bows.
(The ribbons are sewn onto the front, so these folded chasuble cannot be simply unfolded back to a normal chasuble, unless these ribbons are first detached).
There is also the option to include also a matching Roman Cope and/or a Humeral Veil with embroidered eucharistic motif.
If the Low Mass Set is not required, it is also possible to order the Folded Chasubles Set which includes two folded chasubles, broad stole, one deacon's stole and two maniples.
This model can be made in purple, roman-purple or black and with gallons and embroideries in gold.
The folded chasubles (planetae plicatae) and the broad stole (stola latior) are worn by the deacon and sub-deacon in the traditional mass in place of dalmatic and tunicle on days of fasting and penance, such as Lent, Advent and Holy Week.
